Do you sometimes catch yourself thinking, “Oh, I could never wear that- I’m a 14”? Like you-your whole heart, soul and being- are somehow defined by your dress size?

How does this kind of reasoning play out? Is it like a horoscope or something? “If you’re an 8, you’re playful, coquettish and sexy. 12’s should avoid stretch fabrics.”

Come on-get real. This is crazy. Every day we hear women who wear a size 8 claim that they’d feel “more like myself” if they wore a 6, and women who wear a 10 claim that they’re “really an 8”, like they were switched at birth with some unaccountably lucky baby who grew up to wear one dress size smaller. The sad fact is, in 33 years of doing business we’ve never heard anyone say “I like myself just the way I am.”

So here’s the deal: when you visit us, think of yourself as a wild animal, or an undiscovered species of exotic plant, or even an alien being from some far-flung galaxy-but for heaven’s sake, leave those nutty ideas about size at the door.

You might be surprised by the kinds of things that can look really good on you. Because around here, we dress women, not numbers. And that’s something you can count on.
